February 12 Progress Update

Well, everyone, it's coming down to the line! There's just 10 days left in the build season, and Warrior Robotics is still chugging away toward the deadline!
- We've been adjusting the placement of the ball kicker, because in its "default" or outward position, it contacts the bump when we try to move over it. We've gotten closer and closer to that perfect position, but we're still working on that.
- Team members have started construction of the bumpers (the blue set at least). This way we'll have a template for the second set.

Week 5 Progress thus far

Hello, world. Sorry for not posting anything much lately - excessive overtime with robot construction and otherwise.

Here's the week 5 robot progress so far: (as of February 10)

  • Ball kicker mounted
    • Gate latch (for "powering up" - pneumatically pulling it back) mounted
    • Surgical tubing placement and other details still need to be finalized
  • Pneumatics system (compressor, accumulators, pressure release, solenoids, and tubing) practically all mounted

Fundraising Effort - Bagging groceries at Cub Foods

This past Saturday (the 6th of February), around 10 of us Warrior Robotics members headed over to the nearby Cub Foods store for our fundraiser, bagging groceries. Split into two shifts (10am-2pm, and 2-6pm), we did our best bagging for a great amount of shoppers, making the rounds for their Super Bowl parties.

All in all, we ended up raising...

$575!

We'll be heading back there next Saturday for the pre-Valentine's Day rush, hoping to raise at least the same amount of donations.

Update as of Wednesday 2/3/10

We apologize for not posting much of anything before now.

So far (as of February 3), we've made a lot of progress.

We have our robot chassis built (a few weeks ago!), a ball kicker assembled and tested, lifting winch tested, and a lifting mechanism designed and we've started to prototype.

Hopefully we'll have more detailed posts in the coming days. In the meantime, check out the Photo Gallery for a visual representation of our progress!

Brainerd-Robotics.org is now active.

"Hello World!" Today, after two years of struggling with custom-coded site creation, foolishly installed CMSes, and labor-intensive graphic design, we finally have a functioning, nearly-Award qualified website for FRC Team 2503.
The site is running on Drupal, a very nice bit of software. What you're seeing is its default theme, with the colors a little bit tweaked, and a few things added on (the FIRST logo to the right, for instance).
